Frequently asked questions
Do your cookies come individually wrapped?
Yes, each cookie will be individually wrapped and heat-sealed in a cellophane bag.
Are your cookies gluten-free?
No. I do not currently offer gluten-free sugar cookies. I do offer French macarons which, made with almond flour, are naturally GF.
Are your cookies allergen-free?
No. The ingredients in my cookies are: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, butter, eggs, salt, baking powder and vanilla extract. The ingredients in my royal icing is powdered sugar, meringue powder, vanilla extract, cream of tartar and water. The label on the meringue powder that I use in my royal icing states that it is “made in a facility that also processes milk, soy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish.” While I do not use nuts in my recipe, my cookies are made in my home kitchen which does contain nuts.
Can you ship cookies?
No. As per NYS Cottage Food Law, I may not ship cookies outside of NYS. I choose not to ship within NYS, cookies are fragile and I prefer to interact with my customers face to face at pickup.
Is there a minimum number of cookies per order?
No, I can make small orders too, pending availability.
How early should I request an order?
I usually take bookings for a couple months at a time. For example, in January I will likely take orders for dates up until April. That being said… the more notice within this time frame, the better! Custom cookies are VERY time consuming and each step requires planning in advance.
Do you make anything besides custom cookies?
Yes! I make French macarons. Sometimes I offer other baked goods at local events or during presales. I do NOT make cakes.
How should I store cookies?
Cookies will remain fresh for 2 weeks, kept at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. If needed past 2 weeks, I would recommend freezing them in an airtight container. To thaw cookies, remove the container from the freezer and leave it at room temperature for a couple hours. Do not open container while cookies are thawing. They will taste good as new! DO NOT refrigerate decorated cookies, the condensation from the fridge may ruin the decoration.
How should I store macarons?
Your macarons will remain fresh for up to a week, refrigerated in an airtight container. They are best served at room temperature, so remove them from the fridge for at least 15 minutes before serving. Macarons can be frozen in an airtight container to prolong freshness. Thaw in refrigerator and follow steps above for serving.
